A multidimensional stone "puzzle"

Here you see a sculpture using small pebbles which I collected on the beach in Dieppe. Of course, you can use larger pebbles and stones, but the larger the stone, the larger the magnet needs to be. And the larger the magnet, the more you must be careful that they don't crash together! I used 46 pebbles, 134 mini magnets S-05-02-N52N and 16 larger magnets S-05-08-N.
First, the magnets are glued to the pebbles using superglue, before applying a thin coating of UHU MAX REPAIR and then heating the stones in an 80-degree oven for approx. 40 minutes so the glue dries faster (without the oven, the cure time will be 24 hours).
Superglue is used first so that the magnets remain in place even when multiple magnets are glued to the same stone. And also because UHU has a longer drying time and the magnets could slide out of place before they are fully set.

Disc magnets S-05-02-52-N lose their magnetisation starting at approx. 65 °C and they were likely demagnetised during their time in the oven. However, thanks to the additional rod magnets, the magnetic connection between the individual pebbles is ensured. This approach makes it possible to ignore the polarity of the magnets for this project.
